Hello, friends of the press...Thank you for an incredible time at the New York Art Book Fair back in October. It was a pleasure meeting and sharing my books with everyone.

Fantasy Camp will be tabling from September 30th until October 2nd at the NY ART BOOK FAIR happening at MoMA PS1. Come by and say hello! This screen printed poster is a collaboration between Fantasy Camp and Cory Wozney, artist of the now out of print, Creatures of the Abyss.

Ted Gudlat, creator of DUBBLE TROUBLE, made close to 200 of these beautiful screen printed dog stickers for this occasion, come by for one!

Cat Planet Posters

Several weeks ago, Nolan, Kaley and I screen printed some Cat Planet posters.
On July 16th, Cat Planet will be playing all their hits live at the Broken Arts Fair in Memorial Park in Oshawa. Hope to see you there dancing to their tunes.

CANZINE 2010.

It was my first time doing Canzine this year. I had a lovely time meeting many talented artists tabling as well as the awesome folks who came out in the rainy weather to support and shop the handmade. Thank you to everyone who made yesterday a success, it was very encouraging.

I hope everyone liked their Fantasy Camp stickers! I'm sorry I ran out of them so soon. I have one left which I stuck on to my bicycle. No worries, I'll be printing more for EXPOZINE next month in Montreal. So excited! I will be tabling for one day only on Saturday, November 13 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at 5035 St-Dominique (Église Saint-Enfant Jésus, Laurier Métro). Admission is free, so please drop by if you can.

My friend Colleen from We Ain't Friends Books also tabled yesterday with her new release "EZ Grocery & Video". Check it out on their website.

WEST COAST: fantasy camp will be tabling at the Portland Zine Symposium this weekend. it is held at the portland state university in downtown portland. hours are from 10am - 5pm on august 28th and 10am - 4pm on the 29th. i will be selling fantasy camp prints, pins, freshly bound copies of 'RUGS' as well as a collection of beautiful zines by other toronto artists. i'm pretty excited so please come by and say hello!

TORONTO: sunday, august 29th will also be the third annual ZINE DREAM! at the tranzac in toronto. jesjit printed an awesome poster for it. it's an exciting small press fair that is filled with impressive work by local artists. i met a lot of amazing people last year tabling and i am sure it will be even better this year. ted will be selling some Fantasy Camp stuff as well as some of my personal prints. come check it out, it's totally worth it!

"RUGS" & hot-foil stamped glass pins now available at ALL CITIZENS.
So thrilled! Several copies of the book, "RUGS" and some glass pins are being sold at ALL CITIZENS in Bruno, Saskatchewan. Are you driving across Canada? Check out some of the shows they put on in the most intimate setting.

The second photo is of the packing list that was included in the package. I just can't resist the look of typewritten messages on marbled paper. I marbled the paper using a suminagashi marbling kit.

If you live in Toronto, the books are still available at The Beguiling, 601 Markham Street and Kid Icarus, 75 Nassau Street.

Hot Foil Stamped Glass Pins

These glass pins are handmade using a hot foil stamper and metal-backed photo-polymer plates. Gold foil stamped on to old clippings from used books. The first batch mostly uses imagery from a book on rocks and minerals, a book on national parks and another on Canadian landscapes.

A selection of these glass pins are now available at Kid Icarus - 75 Nassau Street, Toronto. Check them out yourself and bring home an unique little gem. Two sizes are available.

The next batch of glass pins will travel with me to Portland, Oregon next month for the Portland Zine Symposum. They will also be available at Zine Dream III, hosted again at The Tranzac/The Toronto Zine Library. More details coming!

Toronto Small Press Book Fair 2010

This was the Fantasy Camp table at the small press book fair. Thank you for visiting and appreciating the handcrafted books and pins. It was nice getting to know you while sharing my thoughts and practice in book arts.

It is definitely not realized that there are so little handmade books created nowadays. In my opinion, handmade books embody the artist's hands - a real value compared to books made by machines. When made with archival materials and thoughtful construction, handmade books will outlast the laptops you are reading this blog entry from.

They may require a lot of time and effort to make, but they are valuable and physical things that will last for years to come.
